I recently spent time testing the Vehicle-Mounted Camping Shower and Privacy Shelter to see if it holds up to the demands of rugged outdoor living. This setup aims to solve the age-old problem of finding a clean, private space while deep in the backcountry.
The tent is constructed from 600D and PU2000mm waterproof oxford fabrics, which feel rugged enough to handle heavy rain and frequent packing. However, the complexity of a vehicle-mounted frame introduces multiple points of failure that could affect long-term durability in harsh winds.
Setting up the tent against the side of the car is a specialized process that requires a dedicated vehicle rack system. Once installed, it offers a solid 100 x 100 x 200cm space, though it is best suited for those who stay at a single campsite for several days rather than those who move daily.
This shelter is ideal for dedicated overlanders or full-time road trippers who prioritize permanent, accessible vehicle-mounted gear over lightweight portable solutions.
While the functionality is clear, the current design and price point make it difficult to justify a full recommendation without further real-world testing. With an initial rating of 0/5, the $679.00 investment is steep for a system that still needs to prove its mechanical reliability under stress.
